HOW TO PROMOTE YOUR APP

A digital marketing guide for schools

Email

The quickest way to reach your community is to send an email dedicated to your app.

eNewsletter

If you send a regular newsletter, you can include an announcement of your app.

We recommend making it the top story so that it gets maximum attention.

News story

A news story or article on your website is a great way to share your app.

There might be other places on your website where you can place a banner. Are there any pages that get regular activity?

Website banners

Your app is a great way to build relationships with prospective parents. It will create many more touchpoints and help you share your student journey.

Consider placing download banners on your website. The following places are ideal:

Next to links to your prospectus
On your 'Contact us' page
Next to social media links in website footer

Social media posts

Use your app link to post on Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter and LinkedIn.

You can pin the messages so that they remain prominent for a while.

If you use Linktree on your Instagram profile, you can also add a link to your app here.

Boosted Facebook post

Only 10% of our audience see a typical Facebook post. This is because of competing posts and the fact that Facebook’s algorithm even hides your posts from followers who haven’t engaged highly with previous posts.

We recommend boosting your Facebook post to ensure more of your audience receives the great news about your app - and to reach beyond your followers.

If you’ve not used boosted posts before, here’s a how-to video.

Facebook Lookalike Audience

A great way to reach new prospective parents is by advertising to a Lookalike Audience.

This is where Facebook identifies users similar to your customer list - current parents or prospective parents - and shares your posts with them.

Printed materials

If you’re sending out a printed brochure, magazine or other direct mail, consider including a one page ad for your app or an insert.

Your can include a QR code so that readers can use their mobile phone cameras to quickly find the app on the app stores.
